Treated waters
for greening of
roads in Oman

MUSCAT — Treated water will soon be used for greening public roads for the first time in a village in Oman. The project, in Hamru Al Duru in wilayat of Ibri, aims at utilising large amounts of treated water currently produced by the existing water treatment plant there for plantation purposes and greening of public roads in the village.

The project will include the provision of two 5,000 gallon tanks, and installation of pumps and pipelines connecting the plant to the tanks and plantation sites. It will be funded by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the country’s top oil and gas exploration and production company, under an agreement signed with the wali of Ibri, Hilal bin Said Al Hajri.
