SC timeframe for verdicts by judiciary

The judgment, authored by the Chief Justice, directed the civil courts to deliver their verdicts within 30 days.

The Supreme Court (SC) has set a time limit for handing down verdicts in a landmark judgment which binds high courts and subordinate judiciary to give judgments within the time prescribed in the ruling.

The judgment, authored by the Chief Justice, directed the civil courts to deliver their verdicts within 30 days after the conclusion of the trial. Similarly, the district courts will have to deliver their judgments within 45 days and the time frame for high courts has been prescribed as 90 days.
