John Fletcher, coordinator for the Coastal Water Rescue Squad, said on Monday his volunteers were able to rescue 15 of the players near Port Elizabeth Sunday, but were unable to resuscitate one of the men. Fletcher says five men remain unaccounted for.

Fletcher says the players had been swimming after a beach rugby practice. He blames strong winds that created rough seas and an unusually strong rip current.
