RO20 million to build mosques

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman has ordered the allocation of RO20 million from his personal funds to build new mosques in different regions of the country and maintain existing ones.

Revealing this here on Sunday, Avqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salmi said the royal order would be implemented immediately.

“This royal grant will contribute to meeting many needs of citizens all over the sultanate in terms of building new mosques and maintaining existing ones as promised, approved and decided by the ministry earlier,” he added.ravindranath@khaleejtimes.com
