An altercation between five women on Monday had caused a delay of a Saudi Airlines flight from Jeddah to the capital Riyadh more than an hour.

Saudi press quoted the assistant director general of the Saudi national carrier as saying the dispute between five women had caused flight no.1044 destined to Riyadh from King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah to be delayed.

The take off was delayed for an hour and thirty eight minutes, and the dispute ensued to a fight, which prompted the airline to cancel their journey as the fight came to an end.

The airplane took off from the airport without the five women passengers, the press reports added.
