HYDERABAD — Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma just does not seem to tire of brewing up controversies or dishing out surprises. After the recent success of his multi-lingual, two-part biopic film Raktha Charithra (Blood-soaked history) based on Rayalaseema faction gang wars, RGV has taken the film industry by surprise by announcing that he would soon be launching a film with zero budget and complete the shooting in just five days!
Known for making political thrillers and underworld-themed movies like Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Company and Satya, RGV would be producing this five-day wonder in Telugu tentatively titled “Dongala Mutha” (Gang of thieves). Another unique feature of this project is that none of the actors, technicians and equipment suppliers will take remuneration for their roles.
“I am making this film with Telugu star Ravi Teja at zero cost. I will start shooting from February 11. It is going to be a highly entertaining action thriller. The unique thing about the film is that this two hour long feature film will be completed in just 5 days - start to finish, with a unit of just eight people,” the ace producer-director said.
The other cast of the film includes Chaarmi, Laxmi Manchu, Brahmanandam, Subba Raju, Brahmmajee, Ajay and Prakash Raj. “People involved in this venture including the actors will be paid their share only after the movie makes profits,” he declared. —news@khaleejtimes.com
