Powerful earthquake jolts Indonesian province

A powerful earthquake measuring 5.3-magnitude hit Melonguane in Talaud Islands of Indonesia's Sulawesi Province, on Wednesday morning.

This is the third quake to jolt Melonguane this month.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake, was centered some 128 km southeast of Melonguane, at a depth of 10 km.

BMKG has warned of aftershock following the tremors.
