The northern parts of Pakistan will see their first winter rain and snowfall starting this Friday and expecting to persist until Monday. The rains are said to be beneficial for the sowing of wheat crops in the agricultural areas of the region.
The hilly side of Gilgit and Baltistan will experience snowfall from Friday to Monday. Rains and thunderstorms will also be seen in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Manshera, Abbottabad, Haripur, Charsadda, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Waziristan, Kurram and Kashmir from Friday to Sunday, while Bhakkar Layyana, Bannu and DI Khan will have rains from Friday night until Saturday., according to a tweet posted on APP.
Light to moderate rains is also expected in main cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, among other places. Rain and thundershowers with light snowfall will be seen in hilly areas of Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat and Qila Abdullah during the weekend.
Places like Murree and Galliyat will also witness its first snowfall on Saturday and Sunday.
