Rare photographs of Sultan Qaboos on display

MUSCAT - A photography exhibition featuring unique and rare photographs of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said by royal photographer Salim Al Hashli opened here on Tuesday.

The three-day show, held to mark the country’s 41st Renaissance Day, was inaugurated by Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, at the head office of BankMuscat in the presence of royal family members, ministers and other notables.
Highlighting different facets of the royal life, the exhibition presents Sultan Qaboos in conversation with citizens during his tour to different parts of the country, and sharing diplomacy in meetings with prominent heads of state. One hundred photographs selected from a vast collection offer striking insight of the royal expressions and emotions and evocatively narrate the story of Sultan Qaboos as a leader loved and respected by citizens and people across the world.
“The photographs are a study of the persona of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, revealing his humane side, especially in conversation with citizens.The artistic excellence achieved in the photographs unveil the regality and simplicity of the royal life,” a spokesman for the bank said.The exhibition is open to the public, and visitors can participate in a draw to win 10 exclusive photographs of Sultan Qaboos.
