PPPP invites applications for tickets

KARACHI - The ruling Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) has invited applications from potential candidates who intend to represent the party in the coming general election for the National Assembly and provincial assemblies seats.

Advertisements on behalf of PPPP President Makhdoom Amin Fahim appeared in Sunday’s newspapers with the latest date to submit applications is set as March 10, 2013, to the party office in Islamabad.

Applications for party tickets for National Assembly seats should be accompanied by a bank draft of Rs40,000 and those for provincial assemblies’ by bank draft of Rs30,000 drawn in favour of the PPPP.

A final decision on party candidates will be taken by the party’s central executive committee and endorsed by President Asif Ali Zardari and party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

According to PPPP sources, more than 10,000 applications from across the country are expected.
