Islamabad — Federal Minister for Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said he was awaiting the report of the Judicial Commission investigating the alleged rigging in the 2013 general election, which he claimed will end PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s ‘innings’ and bring on the PML-N’s.
Speaking to media representatives after attending a ceremony in Rawalpindi, he said not only the ‘35 punctures’ charge but all other statements issued by Imran Khan were political.
Commenting over induction of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other leaders into the PTI folds, the minister said those were in fact looking for a ‘new Ali Baba’ for themselves.
Earlier addressing the ceremony, Rashid said ‘Pakistan-loving organisations’ should be supported. However, funds should not go in hands of those spreading hatred in the country, he added.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that he would make Imran Khan accountable on the Judgement Day for mudslinging against him.
Commenting on Imran Khan’s statement who declared ‘35 punctures’ allegation a political statement’, Ayaz Sadiq said articles 62 and 63 of the constitution speak about honesty and truth. He questioned the credibility of the leader who speaks lies.
He said articles 62 and 63 of the constitution do not make a distinction between a ‘lie’ and a ‘political statement’. The speaker went on to say that these articles be invoked on person whoever is found guilty of speaking a lie.
He said following the return of the PTI parliamentarians in the National Assembly, no reason was left to halt their salaries. However, he said if Imran wants to return the money of the masses instead of giving it to the Shaukat Khanum Hospital, he can do so.
