PIMS rechristened after Bhutto

ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly (NA) has passed legislation to create a medical university in the capital and decided to rename it as Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University amid strong protests by the opposition.

The ruling coalition approved the bill with voice vote that sought to upgrade and rename country’s biggest medical facility, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after the former premier and founder of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
