PCO judges to seek
review of SC verdict

The persons affected by former chief justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry’s judgments have started resorting to Supreme Court (SC) to seek review of the rulings.

A review petition against the SC decision on imposition of emergency by former President Pervez Musharraf has been filed.

Ibrahim Satti, counsel for Pervez Musharraf has said he would file review petition against the SC decision in imposition of emergency case on Friday again.

His petition was returned by SC registrar saying that proper language has not been used in the petition.

He told the media the appeal against the decision of the SC registrar will be presented in the chamber of judge. It will be presented before three judges as per law if it is rejected, he added.

It has also been learnt that Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) judges have started consultation process to file review petition against the decision given by 14-member bench of the SC led by former Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry. As per this decision they were not only deprived of their offices but it was also said that they could not be called as judge as they had not assumed this office in line with the law. The number of these judges including Abdul Hamid Dogar is stated to be about 100.
