Pakistan People’s Party’s National Assembly member Ayaz Soomro on Thursday resigned from NA 204 constituency in Larkana to make way for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to contest by-election and get elected to the lower house of parliament. Ayaz Soomro is likely to be made adviser to Sindh chief minister as a reward for his ‘sacrifice’.

NA-204 has been a PPP stronghold and was previously won by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

The decision was reportedly taken at a party meeting in Naudero. An announcement to this effect is likely to be made on the occasion of Benazir’s death anniversary today.
