President Mamnoon Hussain has said the government of Pakistan has been working to combat challenges including security, law and order, energy and to export Pakistani goods to international markets.

Talking to the media at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday after attending a ceremony held on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam day, the president said that Turkey has shown keen interest to increase bilateral trade between both countries because Pakistani products are better than European.

He said Pakistan and Turkey enjoyed cordial relations which are getting stronger and better day by day.

He said, Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyep Eordgan told him that Pakistani products are cheaper and better than the European products, so broader prospects of promotion of trade exist between the two countries.

The president said, “Pakistan has also assured all kind of assistance to Turkish leadership because it will also bring improvement in our trade.”

However, President Mamnoon avoided to answer questions regarding construction of wall at the Line of Control (LoC) by India in Kashmir and registration of cases against military leadership of Pakistan like those in Turkey.

Earlier, addressing the ceremony, the president said, “the path shown by the father of the nation can earn us a distinguished place among international community.”

He said, “we can make Pakistan a peaceful country by following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah.” He said today Pakistan’s institutions are not only strengthened but are on the path of progress and prosperity.

The president said the nation has rendered numerous sacrifices for the stability of democracy. He said our economy has not only borne the pressure of wars but also faced natural disasters.

Mamnoon said, “international issues have directly or indirectly been affecting our geographical position from time to time. Today we are facing the menace of terrorism and extremism.”

He said the government has been working to combat the challenges including security, law and order, energy and to export Pakistani goods to international markets.

He said Almighty Allah has gifted countless blessings to Pakistani nation. He said the nation has faced all sorts of challenges bravely.

The president urged the nation to collectively move forward following the guidelines of founder of Pakistan and said, “by doing so we can overcome all these challenges.”

Mamnoon said Quaid’s vision was to establish a democratic and welfare state where people can lead their lives with peace, love, equality and harmony.

He said it is encouraging, “we have achieved significant success in strengthening and stabilising democracy in the country. Today we have a vibrant democratic setup, which is busy in delivering the public.”

He said it was utmost duty of the people of Pakistan to put the country on the path of development to bring it at par with other nations.
