Islamabad: Army chief General Raheel Sharif has said that all terrorists, their abettors and financiers will be brought to justice. The army chief spent the first day of the holy month of Ramadan with troops and tribal people in the Khyber Agency.
He first visited Jawaro near the Pak-Afghan border and reviewed the progress of the ongoing operation, said a communique by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
General Raheel commended the troops for their professional commitment and paid rich tributes to their sacrifices for restoring peace and bringing normalcy to Khyber Agency.
The army chief said the terrorist strongholds in Khyber Agency had been reduced and now a military operation in the last few pockets close to Pak-Afghan border was in progress. The army chief said the noose had been tightened and terrorists would not be allowed to re-establish themselves.
He said that the area in which the operation was being carried out was heavily infested with IEDs. He said after North Waziristan, terrorists in Khyber Agency were using the most rugged terrain as their strongholds.
He also visited the de-radicalisation centre in Bara, where those who had surrendered in the military operation are being imparted education and vocational training.
