A two-member bench of the top court headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk took up the missing persons and Balochistan lawlessness case on Thursday.

Irfan Qadir, counsel for the FC IG, said that Maj-Gen. Ejaz could not appear before the court on December 5, due to illness and “he is present in the court today”.

The FC IG told the court that his force was charged with kidnapping of people.

The court inquired then what action has been taken by the FC.

The counsel for Maj-Gen. Ijaz told the court, “one missing person Kao Khan has been recovered. The charge which was levied against six FC personnel has proved wrong. A report about the missing persons will be filed with the registrar office.” The court adjourned the case till January 15.

It may be recalled that a three-member bench of the SC presided over by former chief justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry had issued contempt of court notice to FC IG on December 5 for not appearing in the court despite being summoned in missing persons case. — Online
