Lahore: A pump operator was killed and two others sustained injuries when a gunman attacked Lahore Electricity Supply Company (Lesco) civil works office near Sukh Nehar in Shalimar area on Monday morning.
The attacker, identified as Malik Asif alias Achhi Malang opened fire after an altercation with staff members at Lesco civil works office leaving a pump operator dead and gardener Fayyaz wounded.
A police contingent arrived at the scene within few minutes. The culprit locked himself up in a room and started firing on the police. During exchange of fire, constable Shafiq was hit in the leg. Police called in more force and the firing continued for two hours. Finally, the suspect was arrested and his weapon was confiscated.
