New PAF and ISI chiefs 
take charge

ISLAMABAD - Air Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on Monday took over as the new Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

He replaces Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman who retired on March 18 on completion of his three-year tenure.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. Zahir ul Islam also took charge of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief from Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha who retired on March 18.

Gen. Zahir was currently corps commander Karachi and had served in the ISI as deputy chief of the agency under Gen. Kayani, presently army chief, during the Musharraf era.
