Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz ask PML-N workers to exercise restraint

The Punjab chief minister said that strict action would be taken against those involved in forcibly closure of shops and markets.

Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country against the backdrop of a strike call given by the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to shut down Lahore on Monday.

According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif briefed the prime minister about special arrangements being made to ensure security of citizens and public property during the protest.

Both leaders also advised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and supporters to remain calm and also prohibited the party supporters from coming out on streets on December 15.

The prime minister also urged the PML-N workers to remain calm and patient and avoid reacting to the PTI workers.

The chief minister said that strict action would be taken against those involved in forcibly closure of shops and markets.
