More than 3500 Palestinian orphans in three West Bank cities have benefited from the programmes and projects of the Human Appeal International of the UAE, HAI, dedicated to orphans, poor families and people with special needs. 
Ibrahim Rashid, Commissioner of HAI in the West Bank, handed over a cheque worth Dh1.8 million to 1, 600 orphans, number of poor families and persons with disabilities. 
An official at the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs hailed the humanitarian assistance provided by the United Arab Emirates to the Palestinian people and the vulnerable segments of the Palestinian society. 
The Emirates Red Crescent is sponsoring about 6,000 orphans in the Palestinian territories, offering them a monthly cash assistance in addition to Zakat Al Fitr and in-kind assistance such as clothing and school bags.
