Moderate earthquake jolts Shahdad town in Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Shahdad in Kerman Province in Iran last night.

A report from the seismography centre affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute stated that the longitude of the quake was at 57.45 degrees east and latitude 30.56 degrees north, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).

There has been no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
