UAE issues warning to citizens in Oman due to heavy rains, strong winds

The UAE Embassy in Muscat has urged its citizens in Oman to remain vigilant due to heavy rains and strong winds caused by a low-pressure system expected to impact much of the Sultanate.

In its advisory, the embassy stressed the importance of following safety instructions issued by local authorities and taking necessary precautions.

Meanwhile, UAE residents have also been advised to exercise caution while venturing out during the Eid weekend, as weather forecasts predicted rain across parts of the country. On Saturday morning, showers swept through several areas, accompanied by strong winds, thunder, and lightning, with water accumulation reported in some locations.

Authorities, including Sharjah Police, warned motorists to stay alert on the roads. Drivers were urged to maintain safe distances, reduce speed, avoid valleys and dams, and adhere to careful driving practices to ensure safety during unstable weather conditions.

Dubai Police also posted on its social media reminding drivers the best practices for driving after rains. “Rainy weather requires extra caution Stay alert, anticipate others’ mistakes, and follow these safety tips to prevent accidents,” they wrote on a social media post that shared a poster on what to look out for when driving in rainy weather.
