Pakistan has accepted US President Donald Trump's invitation to join his "Board of Peace" for achieving "lasting peace in Gaza", the country's foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

In a post on X, Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister, said the decision comes "in support of the Gaza Peace Plan under UNSC Resolution 2803, reaffirming its commitment to a permanent ceasefire, humanitarian relief, Gaza’s reconstruction, and a just, time-bound path to an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital."

Several countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Egypt, have also announced their acceptance to join the proposed body.
