The latest operation comes amid continued enforcement efforts targeting illegal activities across the country.
October 8, 2025, authorities arrested a man in Oman in possession of more than 24kg of narcotic drugs. He was travelling on a passenger bus and had concealed the substances in two travel bags, with police saying he intended to "traffic and consume" the drugs.
In August 2025, two individuals were also caught attempting to smuggle more than 15kg of opium through a shipping company. The drugs were hidden inside a consignment of water pumps and were discovered following a coordinated operation tracking the shipment.
