Man lifted 13ft into the air while clinging onto umbrella

In a freak incident in Turkey, a man was lifted 13ft into the air along with a huge patio-style cafe umbrella during strong winds.

CCTV footage captured in Osmaniye province shows a man, identified as Sadik Kocadalli, trying to secure a huge umbrella moments before it flies away due to gusts of wind taking Kocadalli along, reported the Daily Mail.

The video went viral on social media and shows two men sitting at a small table in a street when they notice the umbrella, erected on a  wheeled platform, flapping widely.

That's when Kocadalli joins the two men who rush to secure the umbrella and the trio place their feet on the base to keep it from flying away. But in spite of its heavy base, the umbrella starts to fly away along with Kocadalli as he held on to the umbrella pole.

Kocadalli jumped off the umbrella and escaped unhurt in the accident.

"I'm fine actually. After I realised the umbrella was going to keep going up, I jumped off. I think I rose 3 or 4 metres," Kocadalli said.

However, another man identified as Mehmet Ali Bicakci was not as fortunate and was knocked unconscious after the umbrella landed on him. He also suffered a broken foot and ribs.
