Israeli PM Netanyahu said an investigation was underway and Israel was 'committed to protecting civilians and holy sites'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday said Israel "deeply regrets" the loss of life in a mistaken strike that hit Gaza's only Catholic church.
"Israel deeply regrets that a stray ammunition hit Gaza's Holy Family Church. Every innocent life lost is a tragedy", Netanyahu said, adding that an investigation was underway and Israel was "committed to protecting civilians and holy sites".
