Summary
- In early October, Palestinian group Hamas agreed to release all remaining Israeli hostages
- Trump announced that both Hamas and Israel agreed to his 20-point peace plan for ending the war on Gaza
- On Monday, at around 9 am UAE time, the first batch of Israeli hostages, 7 of them, was handed over to the Red Cross
- Later, the remaining 13 living hostages were released and the Israeli military announced that there are no surviving Israeli hostages held captive in Gaza
- Dozens of Palestinian prisoners arrived in buses to Ramallah in the West Bank and Gaza amid cheers and tears
- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Trump in Israel and addressed the Israeli Parliament (the Knesset), hailing the release of the hostages and thanking the US President
- In a speech at the Knesset, Trump got a standing ovation from members of the Israeli Parliament and said that peace in the Middle East is possible
