‘Memories’ enthral Pakistani, Indian audience in Oman

MUSCAT — Literature lovers from the Indian and Pakistani communities living in Oman got together here for an evening of poetry and prose, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations of the two countries.

The event, aptly titled Haseen Yaadain (Golden Memories), featured many prominent poets and speakers who took the audience down the memory lane.

Poets who recited their works included Azra Aleem, Qazi Mohammad Yousuf, Noman Abdul Majeed, Tufail Ahmed,Murawwat Ahmad, Jagmohan Sangha, Shahzad Raza, Dr Sanjay Dalal andShazia Safdar, who also presided overthe poetry session.

The speakerswho shared their golden memories at the prose session were Syed Jameel Zaidi, Kakul Agha, Prof. Irshad Ahmed, Dr. Sateja Dalal, Mian Mohammad Riaz, Mohammad Zakria Babur and Javed Nawaz.
