AMMA president Innocent told reporters at Trichur on Saturday that he will seek an explanation from the members of the Kerala Strikers, the team floated by the body of the Malayalam film artistes, regarding the allegation that they had misbehaved with the Indigo airline crew. The team was going to Hyderabad to play the Bhojpuri Dabanggs in the semi-finals of the tournament on Saturday. After remaining stranded in the airport for several hours, the team went to Hyderabad in different flights.

Innocent said AMMA will take legal action against the airline if the team members had not done anything wrong. “We will find out whether the airline crew were trying to be rude with the celebrities or if the team really had made some issue aboard the flight,” he added.

The AMMA president expressed regret if the incident caused any inconvenience to other passengers. The 29 members of the team agreed to disembark from the flight after the passengers turned against them. The team had initially resisted the flight captain’s direction to disembark from the Hyderabad-bound flight saying they had not done anything wrong. However, they gave in after some passengers backed the crew.

The captain had given the direction after an airhostess complained that the members of the Kerala Strikers team had had clapped their hands and whistled non-stop while giving the safety instructions. The crew viewed it as an act of interference against their official functioning.
