Licences issued during Sharif’s rule, says Malik

ISLAMABAD - Federal Interior Minister Rahman Malik has said that licences to private airlines were issued in the PML-N era and asked why such soft terms were kept at that time.

Responding to PML-N’s allegation that Bhoja Airline was allowed to relaunch its operations under dubious circumstances, Rahman Malik said that licences to private airlines were issued during Nawaz Sharif’s rule and asked why such dubious terms were kept at that time.

Rahman Malik asked for evidence relating to the allegation of taking bribe for the restoration of Bhoja Airlines’ licence and promised immediate action.

Malik said in his personal opinion old planes should not be included in the airline fleet besides an inquiry was underway as to why old planes of only Cathy Pacific come here.
