President Michel Suleiman says the new government is “100 percent Lebanese.”

Suleiman’s remarks came a day after Lebanon got a new Cabinet, five months after a walkout by Hezbollah led to the dissolving of the previous government.

Members of Lebanon’s Western-backed coalition, who now make up the country’s opposition, say the new government is led by Syria’s allies in Lebanon and represents a “coup” against the democratic system.

Suleiman was addressing ministers on Wednesday at the Cabinet’s first meeting.
