Khoso inducted Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry as his adviser for finance and also re-appointed Dr Waqar Masood Khan as secretary of finance department.

The new appointments come a day before a high-level delegation leaves for negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and US officials to seek an economic bailout amid depleting foreign exchange reserves. Six important federal secretaries were also reshuffled.

A separate statement issued by the finance ministry confirmed that Dr Waqar Chaudhry, a reputed economist who is being tossed around for political considerations thrice as finance secretary during past five years, has again been restored to the post.
