Director of Public Relations and Media at the Education Ministry Fawaz Al-Sherooqi said on Wednesday the ministry had allowed student detainees or convicts, who submitted a request, to take exams, in line with its keenness not to deprive the students whose personal circumstances prevent them from doing so.
He explained that exams in reform centres or hospitals are held in accordance with the same conditions provided for regular students.
In this regard, he denied allegations that the Education Ministry prevents detained and convicted students from taking exams, dismissing the statements as inaccurate and distorted. He affirmed that the list of those detainees and convicts who are registered in exams is available at the Examinations Directorate.
The same statement were circulated by the opposition during the mid-term exams, in which the ministry clarified that students in detentions, jails and hospitals are set for their final exams.
