A python is typically between 10 to 20 feet long and can easily swallow a large animal because of their stretchable skin and flexible lower jaws.
On Monday, a 10-foot-long python swallowed a deer in India's Uttar Pradesh's and later died after spewing out the deer carcass. Before the reptile died, villagers had dragged it out from a field and released it near the banks of the Ganga river 3 kms away.
According to details in Times Now, the python was first spotted by a girl in a sugarcane field near Malipura village. Villagers rushed to the spot and feared the python had swallowed a child as it appeared heavily bloated.
Some villagers already dragged and released the python before forest officials arrived. Following this, the forest team is now probing the cause behind the reptile death.
Back in June, a peacock was swallowed by a 15-feet python near a forest in Haryana.
