The students and invigilators were caught red-handed by cameras of a private TV channel using unfair means during the examinations with the connivance of teachers employed to supervise the exams.

When the footage was aired by the channel the Sindh education department decided to step in and took the unusual step to arrest the offenders. Those students arrested are likely to be barred from taking exams for few years while invigilators’ services would to be terminated.

Cheating in examinations is not a new phenomenon and in majority of cases the students are allowed to use unfair means courtesy invigilators who are paid money to look the other way.

The worst case of cheating was witnessed in Sukkur where after students and invigilators were found involved in unfair means during the matric examinations the authorities had deployed Rangers to stop this evil practice.
