Ramallah: The UAE's Human Appeal International (HAI) provided Dh2 million in aid to more than 4,400 poor families in the West Bank during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The beneficiary families in Ramallah, Bethlehem, Qalqilya and Tulkarem and Tobas received in-cash and in-kind aid from HAI as part of its Dh15 million aid plan -- launched at the beginning of Ramadan and ended on Eid Al Adha -- to assist about one million Palestinians, said Ibrahim Rashid, director of HAI’s Office in West Bank.

HAI’s in-kind aid for the four Palestinian cities included rice, thousands of iftar meals, food packages, gifts for children, clothes and free iftar banquets.

The beneficiary families and officials of local Palestinian charities cooperating with HAI expressed their appreciation for the year-round humanitarian support they receive from UAE.
