UAE President arrives in Doha, received by Emir of Qatar

The visit comes amid regional tension between Iran and Israel and an attack on a US air base in Qatar earlier this week

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Doha on Wednesday for a state visit to Qatar.

The visit comes amid regional conflict between Iran and Israel and an attack on a US air base in Qatar earlier this week.

Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the UAE President and his delegation were welcomed by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

Also present to receive Sheikh Mohamed were Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Amir of Qatar; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and several Sheikhs and senior Qatari officials.

UAE support

After Monday's strikes on Al Udeid air base, the UAE condemned the attacks in the strongest terms, considering it a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Qatar and its airspace, which constitutes a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed UAE’s full solidarity with Qatar, and its unwavering support for all measures aimed at safeguarding the security and safety of its citizens and residents.
