Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar have strongly condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the resumption of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, following Israeli forces' "direct shelling of civilian areas, with no regard for international humanitarian law".

The Kingdom's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate halt to the Israeli violence, destruction, and killing, stressing the urgent need to protect Palestinian civilians from the "unjust Israeli war machine".

Saudi Arabia also emphasised the importance of the international community's immediate intervention to end these crimes and alleviate the severe humanitarian suffering faced by the Palestinian people.

This statement comes in response to the recent escalation in Gaza, where Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 404 people and injuries to 562, many of whom remain trapped beneath rubble, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.

The attack shattered weeks of fragile peace and marked a dramatic shift from the smaller-scale drone strikes that had targeted individual militants in recent months.

Kuwait

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the State of Kuwait's strong condemnation and denunciation of the recent Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, most of them children, women, and the elderly, amid a serious deterioration in the humanitarian situation," Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"The Ministry affirms that this military escalation represents a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and a deliberate disregard for international laws and conventions. It also reveals the continued occupation policies based on targeting defenseless civilians, imposing forced displacement, and systematic destruction of infrastructure in the Strip.

"The Ministry reiterates the State of Kuwait's call on the international community, especially the Security Council and the parties sponsoring the ceasefire agreement, to take urgent and decisive action to halt the Israeli attacks, protect the Palestinian people, and ensure the implementation of relevant international obligations, including halting violations that undermine peace and stability efforts in the region," it added.

Qatar

"Qatar condemns, in the strongest terms, the Israeli occupation's resumption of its aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in numerous martyrs and injuries, including children and women, calling it a blatant challenge to the international will supporting peace, including the ceasefire agreement," Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns that the occupation's escalating policies will ultimately ignite the region and undermine its security and stability. The Ministry emphasises the urgent need to resume dialogue to implement the phases of the ceasefire agreement and ultimately bring an end to the war on the Gaza Strip," it added.

Much of Gaza now lies in ruins after 15 months of fighting, which erupted on October 7, 2023 when thousands of Hamas-led gunmen attacked Israeli communities around the Gaza Strip, killing some 1,200 people, according to Israeli tallies, and abducting 251 hostages into Gaza.

The Israeli campaign in response has killed more than 48,000 people, according to Palestinian health authorities, and destroyed much of the housing and infrastructure in the enclave, including the hospital system.
