Saudi Arabia recalls over 80,000 Toyota Camry vehicles over instrument panel defect
The defect could prevent key information from being displayed and disable turn signals, warning lights and ignition key and seat belt alerts, increasing the risk of an accident

Saudi Arabia has announced the recall of 84,639 Toyota Camry vehicles from the 2025–2026 model years, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
The recall was issued after a defect was identified in the vehicles’ instrument panel system, which may prevent key information from being displayed properly and affect several warning functions.

The defect could also disrupt the turn signals, warning lights, ignition key alerts and seat belt warning sounds, potentially increasing the risk of an accident.

Owners of affected vehicles have been advised to check whether their car is included in the recall by entering its vehicle identification number (VIN) on the Recalls.sa platform.
The latest recall follows several other vehicle safety notices issued by the Ministry of Commerce in recent weeks.
On August 10, Saudi Arabia recalled 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles over a defect involving the driver-side airbag inflator. The recall covers the Chevrolet Cruze, manufactured between 2012 and 2018; Chevrolet Trax, manufactured between 2010 and 2017; and Chevrolet Aveo, manufactured between 2010 and 2017.
Earlier, on August 3, Saudi Arabia recalled 96 Audi Q5 SUVs from the 2025 model year after identifying a defect in the front seatbelt pretensioner.
The recalls are part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing vehicle safety programme, with authorities urging owners to check whether their vehicles are affected to help ensure safer journeys on the road.
Similar vehicle safety recalls have also been announced across the Gulf in recent months, as authorities work to identify potential defects and ensure vehicles on the region’s roads meet required safety standards.
Earlier this year, in March, Skoda UAE announced a safety recall involving TAKATA front airbag components in a limited number of vehicles in the country.
The recall was conducted in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Department of Consumer Protection.
