Qatar on Thursday said it would be evacuating residents in the vicinity of the US Embassy as a temporary precautionary measure amid the ongoing attacks targeting Gulf countries as the Israel-US-Iran war rages on.

The Ministry of Interior stated that alternative accommodation has been provided for these residents, while urging the public to follow official channels for reliable information.

Meanwhile on March 3, the US mission in Doha had asked all non-emergency US government employees and their family members to leave Qatar due to the threat of armed conflict, on the orders of the State Department. All routine consular services have also been suspended until further notice.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Doha continues to maintain shelter-in-place for all remaining emergency personnel.

Americans have been urged to remain inside their residence, hotel, or another structure, and stay away from windows.

"Qatari airspace and maritime routes remain closed. The Salwa land border crossing to Saudi Arabia is currently open," the authority reminded.
