Oman confirms its condemnation of this targeting and that it is taking all necessary measures to address anything that could undermine the safety of the country and its residents.

The Maritime Security Center announced that the oil tanker SKYLIGHT, flying the flag of the Republic of Palau, was targeted 5 nautical miles north of the port of Khasab in the Musandam Governorate.

Initial reports indicate that four crew members sustained varying injuries and have been transferred for necessary medical treatment. All 20 crew member — including 15 Indian nationals and 5 Iranian nationals — were safely evacuated.

Iran has targeted US assets across the Gulf states in retaliation for a huge joint attack on Iran by the US and Israel, that killed Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian government on Saturday confirmed its attacks on several targets, according to the Fars news agency, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE where airbases with US assets are hosted.
