Oman foils attempt to smuggle alcohol via sea, arrests six Iranians

The Sultanate has put in place strict regulations on the import, sale, and consumption of alcohol

An attempt to smuggle large quantities of alcoholic beverages to Oman was foiled by authorities in the Sultanate, it was announced on Sunday.
The bust, which took place in the Musandam Governorate, also included arresting six Iranian nationals while attempting to smuggle the drinks on two boats, Oman Royal Police said on X.
Legal procedures are now being completed against the arrested, it added.
