Oman arrests 7 Asian nationals over drug trafficking, possession of 185kg of narcotics

Oman has arrested seven individuals of Asian nationalities in the Wilayat of Al Barka following a major drug seizure by authorities.

The suspects were found in possession of more than 185kg of narcotic substances, including crystal meth, hashish, marijuana and morphine, according to police.

Authorities also seized more than 120,000 psychotropic substance tablets, which were allegedly intended for trafficking.

The arrests were carried out by the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department, led by the South Al Batinah Governorate Police.

Legal procedures against the suspects are currently being completed.
