An Indian worker was killed in an Iranian attack on a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait. The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy also announced that a service building at one of the power and water distillation plants was damaged in an Iranian attack.
The Embassy of India in Kuwait expressed its condolences and was closely coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities to render all possible support and assistance. This latest fatality raises the number of Indian nationals killed in the West Asia war to at least eight. The latest death follows an incident last Thursday in the UAE, where an Indian was killed by falling debris after a ballistic missile was intercepted over Abu Dhabi. Four Pakistani expatrs have also been killed in the UAE due to falling debris amidst escalating regional conflicts.

Kuwait News Agency quoted the ministry's spokesperson, Fatima Jawhar Hayat, as saying that technical and emergency teams have immediately dealt with the repercussions of the incident in line with the approved emergency plan.
Hayat underlined the continuation of operation efficiency, in parallel with full coordination with security authorities and the relevant bodies to ensure the damaged sites.
On Friday, the Indian government, after an inter-ministerial meeting, said that seven Indians had been killed in the Middle East conflict so far, with one still missing. Monday’s fatality takes the toll higher.
The war has now entered its fifth week, which began after the US and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28, triggering a wider regional escalation. Iranian forces have since attacked US assets and civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure.
