Kuwait confirms video showing assault on medical staff not from ministry's facilities
The Ministry of Health revealed it followed up on the video claiming the assault was on medical staff from Farwaniya Hospital

Kuwaiti authorities have confirmed that a video circulating online showing medical staff being assaulted is not associated with any of the Ministry of Health's facilities.
The Ministry of Health revealed it followed up on the video claiming the assault was on medical staff from Farwaniya Hospital. It then denied these rumours.

The authority confirmed the clip was not filmed in Farwaniya Hospital, nor in any of the hospitals, centres, or health facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Health in Kuwait.

In its statement, the ministry said that while it appreciates the vigilance and concern for the safety of health cadres, it calls for exercising accuracy and obtaining information from its official sources before circulating it or attributing it to the ministry's facilities.
Earlier today, Kuwait also denied a viral video going around social media showing a hole in a public road. The Ministry of Public Works in its statement clarified that the clip dates back several years. The footage showed a gaping hole in the road near one of the ports in the country.
This is not the first time the gulf country has spoken out about false footage circulating online. In April this year, Kuwait’s Health Ministry said that a widely circulated video showing medicines passing through an airport was outdated and unrelated to the ministry.
According to Kuwait laws, criminal penalties may be imposed for sharing false or misleading videos online, particularly where the content is considered capable of causing panic, harming public order, national security, or undermining confidence in state institutions.
