Watch: Kuwait authorities arrest four men over diesel theft, telecom tower damage
Authorities found that the suspects worked for a company contracted to maintain the towers and had exploited their positions to take excess diesel

Kuwaiti authorities have solved four cases involving the theft of diesel and damage to telecommunications towers in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area, after the incidents were initially registered against unknown perpetrators.
The investigation, which involved intensified searches, modern technology and surveillance of telecommunications towers, eventually led authorities to four suspects working for a company contracted to maintain the sites.

Authorities said the suspects had allegedly exploited their positions to take excess diesel from the towers. Part of the fuel was used to cover shortages at other sites, while the remaining quantities were taken and sold.

The four suspects, all Indian nationals, were subsequently arrested in connection with the cases.

During questioning, the suspects admitted to carrying out the offences over two years at several locations. Investigations also linked them to similar incidents in other governorates, authorities said.
Investigations and efforts to determine the full extent of the offences remain ongoing, with the suspects set to be referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to combating theft and protecting vital facilities and infrastructure, stressing that it would take firm action against anyone who tampers with them or threatens the country’s interests.
