He said the ongoing incidents reflect Iran's escalating approach toward GCC states and undermine efforts to reduce tensions, posing risks to regional and international stability.

Al Budaiwi also rejected Iranian claims blaming GCC countries for any military actions, calling them baseless. He reiterated that GCC nations follow policies based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference, and promoting peace and stability.

He emphasised that GCC states reserve their full right under Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law to take necessary measures to protect their security, stability, and resources and to respond to such attacks.

The Secretary-General further called on the international community to take a firm stance against these actions and urged Iran to comply immediately with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026 to help end the violations and maintain regional stability.

He concluded by reaffirming the unity and solidarity of GCC member states in confronting any threats to their security and interests, and their continued commitment to collective efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
