The fatality is the island nation’s first since the start of Tehran's campaign, bringing the total number of deaths across the Gulf to five since Saturday.

Loud explosions were heard across Gulf cities on Monday as Tehran carried out strikes against countries in the region that host US bases for the third day in response to US-Israeli air raids. Since Saturday, across the Gulf, civilian infrastructure has been hit, from airports and seaports to residential buildings and hotels.

The US and its Arab allies on Sunday condemned Iran for launching a wave of strikes on Gulf states hosting US troops in response to a US-Israeli attack.

"The targeting of civilians and of countries not engaged in hostilities is reckless and destabilising behavior," the US State Department said in a joint statement with Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
