In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Kuwaiti security forces foiled an attempt to smuggle approximately 110kg of cannabis aboard a cargo ship.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, two individuals were arrested in connection with the seizure. The bust also uncovered an additional 6,000 Captagon tablets and five grams of methamphetamines, which were confiscated by authorities.

The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

The Ministry reiterated its firm stance against drug trafficking, stressing that security forces will continue to take decisive and uncompromising measures against anyone involved in such crimes. These efforts, the ministry noted, are part of Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to protecting society from the “scourge” of narcotics.
